This Privacy Policy describes how your information is collected, used, and shared when you use the TeX Editor mobile application (the "Application" or "App").

Our primary goal is to provide a clean, secure, and privacy-respecting editing environment. We do not collect, store, or transmit your document contents or personal information to our own servers.

1. Personal Data and Document Security

• Local Editing & Storage: All document editing, creation, and saving occur entirely locally on your device. The contents of your files, including .tex files, are never uploaded, stored, or processed on our servers.
• Storage Access Framework (SAF): TeX Editor uses Android's Storage Access Framework. This allows you to select files or choose directories for saving documents using the system file picker. The App does not require broad read/write permissions to your entire device storage (such as READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). It only gains temporary or persistent access to the specific files you explicitly choose to open.

2. Third-Party Services

To provide essential features and monetize the Application, we utilize third-party services that may collect information used to identify you or your device.

A. Google AdMob

The Application includes advertisements served by Google AdMob. To display these ads, AdMob may collect and process telemetry data, which may include:

• IP address
• Device make, model, and operating system version
• Unique device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID or IDFA)
• Interaction data (such as clicks or impressions)

B. MathJax CDN (JSDeliver)

To render LaTeX formulas in the preview screen, the App loads the MathJax 3 rendering library from a public Content Delivery Network (CDN) operated by JSDeliver.

• What is shared: When rendering previews, your device makes a standard web request to the CDN to download the JavaScript and font assets. The CDN provider may receive standard networking information, such as your IP address and user-agent string.
• What is NOT shared: The contents of your LaTeX documents are not sent to the CDN. All TeX-to-HTML rendering is performed completely client-side inside a local WebView on your device.

3. Permissions Requested

The Application requests the following permissions, which are strictly necessary to perform its functions:

• android.permission.INTERNET: Required to download MathJax rendering resources in the preview screen and fetch advertisements from Google AdMob.
• android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to check for active network connectivity before attempting to load CDN resources or ads.

4. Children's Privacy

Because TeX Editor does not collect or transmit personal user information, it is safe for users of all ages. However, the third-party ad networks (AdMob) may serve ads subject to their own policies. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
